Salt, Cloves, Black Pepper, Laurel
All of the listed ingredients used are brought in fresh and prepared within the same day of catching, and canning of the fishes. The produce used is still grown and harvested within the surrounding area of Matosinhos, the birthplace of Nuri.
The selection process begins at the port. Starting with the freshest fish, the producers select only the top layer of finest fishes (as the bottom layers can be bruised due to the weight), reserving only the best for Nuri. Following the unique vapor style cooking, it takes 37 steps to produce a can of Nuri. Which is why each can is wrapped by hand, representing the special gift it is.
Each can of Nuri Sardines are handmade masterpieces, with a select and limited annual production. Compared to the average product, the number of steps and dedication required to produce a can of Nuri may approximately triple.
With respect to their traditional method, ingredients and sustainability. It has become a true product with its own cult following.
